Chief Investment Officer
Abi joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2006 after several years as a financial economist. He has written extensively and led seminars on a broad range of economic and investment related topics.
Abi’s role at Thomas Miller Investment ranges from leading our economic analysis and asset allocation research, to devising investment strategy and managing multi-asset portfolios for our largest clients. Abi leads the investment strategy committee and is responsible for the investment process across all asset classes and all client portfolios. He is a Director of Thomas Miller Investment Ltd and a member of TMI’s senior management committee.
In September 2013, Abi received an award for excellence in institutional asset management and was listed by Financial News as one of ‘40 Under 40 Rising Stars of European Asset Management’.
Abi studied economics at the University of York and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the London Business School. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
Director & Head of Portfolio Management
Henry joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2007 as a senior Investment Director, having gained 20 years experience at F & C Asset Management where he was Director of Fixed Interest and Head of Global Government Bonds.
As the Head of Portfolio Management, Henry ensures that TMI investment strategy and stock selection decisions are implemented across portfolios. He is responsible for the stock selection process for each asset class including equities, fixed income, alternatives and collective funds. He also helps formulate investment strategy as a member of the investment strategy committee. Henry also acts as portfolio manager for certain institutional client relationships.
In addition to managing global bond and currency portfolios for F & C ‘s institutional and retail clients, Henry was also a member of the Asset Allocation Committee that determined the company’s investment policy across all asset categories. Henry holds an MA in Classics from Worcester College, Oxford.
Chief Operating Officer & Finance Director
Brian joined Thomas Miller Investment in June 2009 as Finance Director.
He was previously a Senior Vice President with State Street Bank & Trust Company. He has held senior positions with a number of financial institutions, including Aviva, Societe Generale, Schroders, and Guinness Mahon (now part of Investec).
Brian is a graduate of the University of London and has a Ph.D. degree in Financial History. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Brian is currently a Visiting Fellow in the School of Politics & Economics at King’s College, London. Between 2010 and 2014, he was a Trustee and Honorary Treasurer of a national adoption charity.
Matthew is Managing Director of Thomas Miller Wealth Management and is based at our London office. He advises on a number of large investment consultancy cases.
Matthew started providing investment advice in 1996 when he joined Deloitte and worked with a range of pension schemes, trusts and high net worth individuals. He was responsible for the expansion and day to day management of Deloitte's financial planning in Scotland and Northern Ireland. He moved to become an Investment Director of Clear Financial Management, also providing advice to pension schemes, trusts and high net worth individuals and joined Broadstone, formerly BDO, in 2005. He was Managing Director of Broadstone Pensions & Investments Ltd until November 2014 and assisted with the sale of the business to Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014.
Matthew is a member of the Personal Finance Society and has professional qualifications in investment management, portfolio construction and investment management within pensions. He has a first class honours degree in Geology from London University.
Head of Private Investment Management (UK)
Andrew joined Thomas Miller Investment in May 2012. He oversees all UK private client investments for Thomas Miller, manages a number of client portfolios directly as well as leading our direct equity research team. He joined from Adam & Company Investment Management Ltd where he was the Investment Director charged with implementing and overseeing its investment process and strategy across all asset classes. He also managed the successful Adam Worldwide global equity fund and portfolios for charity, corporate and private clients. Andrew has 18 years’ experience in investment markets and before joining Adam & Company, was an institutional global equity fund manager with Scottish Widows and Edinburgh Partners.
Andrew is an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK (ASIP) and obtained a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne as well as a Diploma in Investment Analysis from Stirling University.
Prior to embarking on his investment management career, Andrew served six years as a British Army officer with the King's Own Scottish Borderers and is still actively involved in various Armed Service related charities.
Managing Director (Isle of Man)
Tom joined Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) Limited in 2012 as Head of Private Investment Management (Offshore); joined the Board in 2013 and was promoted to Managing Director in January 2016.
Tom is responsible for the management of investment portfolios on behalf of private individuals, personal and corporate pension schemes, investment companies, collective funds, offshore and charitable trusts.
Tom is a member of the executive committee, investment strategy committee, portfolio review group and collective fund research team. He is a non-executive Director of Thomas Miller Wealth Management Limited. Tom is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds an MSc in International Banking & Finance.
Before joining TMI, Tom served as a commissioned officer and pilot with the Royal Air Force until 2004. He subsequently held roles with a number of investment management firms in the United Kingdom and Isle of Man.
Richard has accumulated over 30 years investment experience.
He joined Thomas Miller Investment in 1992 and holds responsibility for fixed income and currency management and acts for a number of clients as their portfolio manager. Richard also has experience in managing hedge fund investments.
Prior to joining Thomas Miller, Richard worked for Scandinavian Bank Ltd and S.G.Warburg Group. At S.G. Warburg Richard worked within the fixed income, equity and convertible bond divisions.
He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds the Diploma of the Association of International Bond Dealers.
Senior Executive Director
Christopher joined Thomas Miller Investment Ltd in 2006 to establish cash management services for the group. He was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2011.
Christopher ran the banking division of the Edinburgh-based merchant bank Noble Grossart Limited from 1983. The services provided by Noble Grossart included the management of individual sterling and dollar cash portfolios for corporates, captives, trusts and insurance captives, based both in the UK and Isle of Man.
He is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Chairman (Isle of Man)
David initially entered the industry in 1969 for a 2 year period with Pearl Assurance Limited prior to attending Reading University where he gained a B.A (Hons) in Politics.
Joining Royal Insurance in 1975 he was promoted to Senior Investment Manager before leaving in 1986 to join Coutts & Co on the Isle of Man where he became Vice President of Investments and was responsible for 26 people managing assets of around £1bn.
In 1999 he joined Capital International Limited as Investment Director where he remained until 2004. Prior to joining Thomas Miller, David also worked for Collins Stewart as a Senior Investment Manager and Singer & Friedlander Investment Management (IOM) Limited.
David is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute (Chartered FCSI) and a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII).
Simon joined Thomas Miller Investment in September 2016 from Broadstone Corporate Benefits Ltd where he worked for 11 years latterly as Pension Director for the Executive Services team. Simon has over 30 years’ experience in the pension industry and can draw on a wealth of experience and knowledge. He advises private clients as well as corporate bodies on all aspects of pensions planning particularly in recent times on the tax implications to senior executives of the latest pension legislation. Simon has also taken a particular interest in the planning possibilities with pensions for those approaching retirement under the recent ‘pension freedom’ rules.
Simon frequently comments on industry matters in the press as well as providing technical papers and presentations for clients and other financial service professionals.

Phil Cook is a private client partner at Thomas Miller Investment. Phil advises on a wide range of personal financial planning areas, such as estate planning, the use and selection of Tax Efficient Investments and Business and Personal Protection, with particular emphasis on pension and investment related matters.

Private Client Partner
Debbie is a Private Client Partner within the Southampton office of Thomas Miller Wealth Management.
Professionally qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Debbie is also a member of the Institute of Taxation, a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society. Debbie has over 35 years’ experience in professional practice, of which the last 21 years have been within the financial services industry.
Debbie provides high quality independent financial planning advice to high net worth individuals, families and trusts that typically have more complex affairs. This includes financial structuring, investment consulting, strategic asset allocation, appointment of discretionary investment managers, and co-ordination of professional advisers, succession planning, philanthropy and charitable giving.
Debbie’s past experience enables her to provide a wide range of services and to actively apply investment techniques to suit client needs and objectives.
Outside of work, Debbie has an active family life and enjoys gardening (with the chickens), playing tennis, baking, and is a regular pitch side supporter for her children’s football teams.

David is one of the UK's leading financial advisers.

Private Client Partner
Antony is a Private Client Partner at Thomas Miller Investment. He has over nineteen years’ experience in professional practice, of which the last twelve have been with Broadstone, who have recently been taken over by Thomas Miller Investment. Prior to joining Thomas Miller/Broadstone, Antony spent five years with Arthur Andersen in a tax and financial planning role and two years with Hillier Hopkins, a smaller accountancy firm where he specialised in the provision of pension advice.
Antony provides investment and financial planning advice to ultra high net worth clients and strategic investment advice to trusts, pension schemes and charities. He has a particular specialism in dealing with the investment consultancy issues surrounding individuals, trusts and charities. Antony also specialises in life planning, a fee-based process that uses the latest technology to help clients visualise whether they are on track to meet their lifetime financial objectives. Once the over-arching strategy has been agreed there is often the need to implement actions to address the issues identified. This can involve in-depth advice on developing and implementing suitable pre and post retirement planning strategies, including self-investment, asset allocation and effective tax planning.
Antony is a Certified Financial Planner and is qualified in investment management via the UK Society of Investment Professionals. In addition, he is a member of the Association of Taxation Technician.
Private Client Partner
Sharon is a Private Client Partner within Thomas Miller Investment’s London office. She is passionate about building relationships with her clients based on trust and understanding, and to provide continuity of service over many years and sometimes throughout generations. She is known for cutting through the financial jargon to explain things in a way that can be easily understood by all.
Sharon puts her client’s lifetime goals and objectives at the forefront of all her recommendations, helping them to make the best decisions (sometimes difficult ones) now in order to achieve their financial goals later in life. She uses Life Planning tools to help clients visualise whether they are on track to meet their goals.
Sharon has worked within the financial services industry for over 25 years. She became fully authorised to provide financial planning advice to clients in 1994 and now provides comprehensive wealth management solutions, with particular focus on investment advisory, discretionary services and financial planning with private clients, trusts and some charities.
Outside of work Sharon enjoys spending time with her family by the sea – aside from her husband this family consists of one cat, one dog, one horse and a hedgehog!
Private Client Partner
Matt joined Thomas Miller Investment in May 2015 after a successful career as a wealth management director at Towry. He is now a senior consultant with Thomas Miller Investment, looking to build and grow the firm's footprint in the West Midlands. Matt advises clients on a broad spectrum of issues but specialises in effective financial planning and inheritance tax planning. He has strong links with professional connections across the area, especially with solicitor firms in the regional hubs surrounding Birmingham.
Matt began his career as a financial adviser with Edward Jones, initially building up a client bank by introducing himself door to door to people in his local community. Edwards Jones was then acquired by Towry where he rose to the position of director. Matt also spent 2 years as chair of Towry's consultative committee, consulting with the executive board on concerns and matters raised by employees.
Frazer joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014. Frazer has over 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry, advising high net worth clients across a wide range of subjects. Frazer advises clients with regard to personal investment advice and management, including Life and Pension Planning. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a fully accredited member of SOLLA (the Society of Later Life Advisers).
In addition to full financial planning Frazer is able to offer the following capabilities:

Martin is a Senior Consultant within the Southampton office of Thomas Miller.
Martin has worked in Financial Services for over 30 years. Previous employment includes the retail investment arm of a merchant bank, the financial planning team within a Lloyds broking listed company and a “big four” accountancy practice where he ran the financial planning team in the South.
He is a Chartered Financial Planner and previous roles include pension transfer specialist. He specialises in providing wealthy individuals, families and entrepreneurs with tailored financial solutions using a holistic approach to satisfy circumstances and aspirations. This focusses particularly on investment advisory, discretionary services and financial planning.
Advice is often provided in conjunction with other professional advisers.
Martin serves on the firm’s tax solutions group and supports the firm’s advisers in providing tax based investment solutions.
Alison has been a Senior Consultant within the London office of Thomas Miller Investment since December 2014, having previously worked for its predecessors BDO Investment Management and Duncan Clark plc.
Having worked within the financial services industry since 1990, Alison became fully authorised to provide investment advice to clients in December 2001 and now provides comprehensive wealth management solutions to private clients, focussing particularly on investment advisory, discretionary services and financial planning with private clients.
Alison holds the Diploma in Financial Planning, one of the high level qualifications within the financial services industry and is working towards the prestigious chartered status.
Head of Collectives Research and Senior Portfolio Manager
Jordan joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2014 following the acquisition of BROADSTONE. He has responsibility for the fixed income strategies within the Thomas Miller Investment Managed Portfolio Service and also for providing asset allocation guidance for the broader multi-asset strategies.
In addition he is Head of the Collectives Research team, working towards the selection and monitoring of the collective fund approved lists. Jordan is also a member of the Fixed Income research team at Thomas Miller Investment, providing analysis and contributing to the investment strategy and outlook for the asset class.
Jordan began his career at Fidelity Investments before later moving to The Wellcome Trust, the world’s second largest endowment. Prior to Thomas Miller Investment, he worked at Mercer where he provided investment advice to institutional clients and charities. He studied Economics as an undergraduate at the University of Sheffield and as a postgraduate at City, University of London. Jordan has been a CFA Charterholder since 2011.
Head of Alternatives Research and Senior Portfolio Manager
Mark joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2008 having previously worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Alongside portfolio management responsibilities he also conducts research and analysis across a range of asset classes with a focus on alternative investments. He is a member of the TMI Investment Strategy Committee and Head of Alternatives Research. Mark studied economics at the University of Sheffield and is a CFA Charterholder.
Co-Fund Manager TMI Bond Fund & Fund Manager TMI Liquidity Fund
Rob joined Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) Limited in 2007 and is responsible for the institutional and private client dealing within TMI along with the day to day management of TMI branded funds. Rob acted as co-Fund Manager of the TMI Bond Funds. Rob also acts as a Director for the TMI Liquidity Fund plc, a listed company.
Rob has 15 years experience in the Finance Industry having previously worked for Barclay's Bank plc in the UK & IOM before taking up dealing roles within MyTravel Group plc and Clerical Medical International prior to joining Thomas Miller Investment.
Senior Portfolio Manager
Andrew joined Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) Ltd in 2008 and was appointed Senior Portfolio Manager in 2010. His primary responsibility is to act as lead manager for a broad range of internationally diversified portfolios. His clients include private individuals, personal pension schemes, trusts, investment companies and charities. Andrew acts as secondary manager for a further list of portfolios.
Andrew is member of the Investment Strategy Committee as well as the equity research team where he has a particular responsibility for European equities. He holds an MA in modern history from the University of Oxford and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment..
Andrew began his career in 1994 and his responsibilities at previous companies have included: European and Japanese equity markets; the UK retail sector; and global quoted property.
Head of Advice
Tom joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014, moving from BROADSTONE. Having decided measuring the inside legs of Moss Bros customers was not for him, he now has 20 years' experience in financial services. Starting on the counter of a high street building society, he has spent the past 16 years in various independent financial advisory firms.
As Head of Advice, Tom supports our Partners and Consultants to ensure the quality of financial advice we provide to our clients is of the highest standard. A Chartered Financial Planner, Tom is well qualified to ensure we are kept abreast of the latest HMRC legislation, market developments and wider industry trends.
Tim is a Chartered Financial Planner and has 14 years of experience within the financial planning profession. Tim originally joined BDO Investment Management in 2008 which is the firm that later became Broadstone and was subsequently acquired by Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014.
Tim has a wealth of experience in providing strategic financial planning advice to a wide range of clients. He is a member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society.
Neil joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2014 with 20 years’ experience in financial services. He is now a consultant in Private Office, a division of Thomas Miller Investment providing independent planning and investment advice to wealthy families and trusts. Neil advises clients on a wide range of issues but particularly focusses on investment planning, pension strategy, succession options and the use of trusts. His role often involves liaison with other professionals including family solicitors, portfolio managers and tax advisers to identify needs and regularly review.
Neil is a Chartered member of the Securities & Investment Institute. Neil is also a Chartered Financial Planner and professionally qualified as a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (formerly the Society of Financial Advisers). Neil is a graduate with a Bachelor of Law degree from Kings College London.
Before Thomas Miller Investment, Neil has worked with Broadstone (previously BDO Investment Management), Ashcourt Asset Management and Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC).
Daniel joined Thomas Miller Investment in June 2013. He is a Consultant with over ten years experience in the financial services industry. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and holds the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

When not spending time with his sons, he is a keen athlete and is in charge of Thomas Miller's running club.
Dan joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014 as part of the acquisition of Broadstone. He is a key member of the Collectives Research team and has responsibility for the selection and monitoring of Japanese, Asian and emerging market equity funds. Dan is also a member of the Equity research team at Thomas Miller Investment.
Dan obtained a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Finance from the University of Southampton and has been a CFA Charterholder since 2017.
Sam joined Thomas Miller Investment at the beginning of 2016. He is responsible for the developed market equity strategies within the Managed Portfolio Service.
Further to this, he is a member of both the Collectives and Equity teams.
Prior to joining Thomas Miller Investment, Sam graduated from the University of Nottingham where he studied Finance, Accounting and Management. He is currently studying towards the CFA
Georgios joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2015 having previously worked as a Portfolio Analyst at Capital Generation Partners LLP. He has four years of investment experience and is a key member of the Alternative Investment Research team. His role includes Investment Research and Analysis with a particular focus on the Alternatives sector, Macroeconomic Research and also contributing to TMI’s Portfolio Management process.
He has obtained a MSc Finance and Investment from the University of Durham and a BSc Economics (Distinction) from the University of Athens and is CFA Charterholder.
Assistant Portfolio Manager
Karen joined the Private Investment Management Team at Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) Limited in 2014, having previously worked within TMI as a securities dealer and also for Nedbank Private Wealth.
Karen works closely with the lead portfolio managers on a large number of private client portfolios and is a key member of the Collectives research team with a focus on fixed income fund selection.
Karen is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds a BSc (Hons) in Sport Administration and Science from Nottingham Trent University.
Sales and Marketing Manager
Chris joined Thomas Miller Investment in March 2016 having managed external intermediary relationships for another Discretionary Fund Manager in the City.
He is responsible for supporting the Managing Director in executing the strategy across both the Private Client, Intermediary Division and Wealth Management team.
Chris holds a BA in Management & Business from the University of Reading and has worked in Financial Services since completing his degree. Chris is currently working towards his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
