Wealth Management Team
Matthew is Managing Director of Thomas Miller Wealth Management and is based at our London office. He advises on a number of large investment consultancy cases.
Matthew started providing investment advice in 1996 when he joined Deloitte and worked with a range of pension schemes, trusts and high net worth individuals. He was responsible for the expansion and day to day management of Deloitte's financial planning in Scotland and Northern Ireland. He moved to become an Investment Director of Clear Financial Management, also providing advice to pension schemes, trusts and high net worth individuals and joined BROADSTONE, formerly BDO, in 2005. He was Managing Director of Broadstone Pensions & Investments Ltd until November 2014 and assisted with the sale of the business to Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014.
Matthew is a member of the Personal Finance Society and has professional qualifications in investment management, portfolio construction and investment management within pensions. He has a first class honours degree in Geology from London University.
Private Client Partner
Matthew joined Thomas Miller Investment following the acquisition of BROADSTONE in December 2014. Matthew has been with BROADSTONE (formerly BDO Investment Management) since 2006 having previously worked for a fee based adviser located in the City of London. With over 15 years’ experience advising senior executives, those in professional practice, retirees, trusts and charities there is little that Matthew has not covered during his career.
As a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, Matthew is able to cover the broadest range of issues. However, Matthew has particular specialism in complex pension planning especially around Lifetime and Annual Allowance issues, defined benefit schemes and retirement options.
As with all Private Client Partners, Matthew is also a specialist in cash flow modelling to help people visualise whether they are on track to meet their goals.
Simon joined Thomas Miller Investment in September 2016 from Broadstone Corporate Benefits Ltd where he worked for 11 years latterly as Pension Director for the Executive Services team. Simon has over 30 years’ experience in the pension industry and can draw on a wealth of experience and knowledge. He advises private clients as well as corporate bodies on all aspects of pensions planning particularly in recent times on the tax implications to senior executives of the latest pension legislation. Simon has also taken a particular interest in the planning possibilities with pensions for those approaching retirement under the recent ‘pension freedom’ rules.
Simon frequently comments on industry matters in the press as well as providing technical papers and presentations for clients and other financial service professionals.
Private Client Partner
Phil Cook is a private client partner at Thomas Miller Investment (previously BROADSTONE and BDO Investment Management Limited). Phil advises on a wide range of personal financial planning areas, such as estate planning, the use and selection of Tax Efficient Investments and Business and Personal Protection, with particular emphasis on pension and investment related matters.

Private Client Partner
Debbie is a Private Client Partner within the Southampton office of Thomas Miller Wealth Management.
Professionally qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Debbie is also a member of the Institute of Taxation, a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society. Debbie has over 35 years’ experience in professional practice, of which the last 21 years have been within the financial services industry.
Debbie provides high quality independent financial planning advice to high net worth individuals, families and trusts that typically have more complex affairs. This includes financial structuring, investment consulting, strategic asset allocation, appointment of discretionary investment managers, and co-ordination of professional advisers, succession planning, philanthropy and charitable giving.
Debbie’s past experience enables her to provide a wide range of services and to actively apply investment techniques to suit client needs and objectives.
Outside of work, Debbie has an active family life and enjoys gardening (with the chickens), playing tennis, baking, and is a regular pitch side supporter for her children’s football teams.

Private Client Partner
Antony is a Private Client Partner at Thomas Miller Investment. He has over nineteen years’ experience in professional practice, of which the last twelve have been with BROADSTONE, who have recently been taken over by Thomas Miller Investment. Prior to joining Thomas Miller/BROADSTONE, Antony spent five years with Arthur Andersen in a tax and financial planning role and two years with Hillier Hopkins, a smaller accountancy firm where he specialised in the provision of pension advice.
Antony provides investment and financial planning advice to ultra high net worth clients and strategic investment advice to trusts, pension schemes and charities. He has a particular specialism in dealing with the investment consultancy issues surrounding individuals, trusts and charities. Antony also specialises in life planning, a fee-based process that uses the latest technology to help clients visualise whether they are on track to meet their lifetime financial objectives. Once the over-arching strategy has been agreed there is often the need to implement actions to address the issues identified. This can involve in-depth advice on developing and implementing suitable pre and post retirement planning strategies, including self-investment, asset allocation and effective tax planning.
Antony is a Certified Financial Planner and is qualified in investment management via the UK Society of Investment Professionals. In addition, he is a member of the Association of Taxation Technician.
Private Client Partner
Sharon has been a Private Client Partner within the London office of Thomas Miller Investment since its takeover of BROADSTONE in December 2014 and having previously worked for its predecessors BDO Investment Management and Kearsley Investment Services since March 1992.
Having worked within the financial services industry for over 20 years Sharon became fully authorised to provide investment advice to clients in 1994 and now provides comprehensive wealth management solutions to private clients, with particular focus on investment advisory, discretionary services and financial planning with private clients.
Sharon holds the Diploma in Financial Planning, one of the high level qualifications within the financial services industry and is working towards the prestigious chartered status.
Frazer joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014. He moved from BROADSTONE where he was a Senior Consultant. Frazer has over 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry, advising high net worth clients across a wide range of subjects. Frazer advises clients with regard to personal investment advice and management, including Life and Pension Planning. He is a Chartered Financial Planner.

Matt joined Thomas Miller Investment in May 2015 after a successful career as a wealth management director at Towry. He is now a senior consultant with Thomas Miller Investment, looking to build and grow the firm's footprint in the West Midlands. Matt advises clients on a broad spectrum of issues but specialises in effective financial planning and inheritance tax planning. He has strong links with professional connections across the area, especially with solicitor firms in the regional hubs surrounding Birmingham.
Matt began his career as a financial adviser with Edward Jones, initially building up a client bank by introducing himself door to door to people in his local community. Edwards Jones was then acquired by Towry where he rose to the position of director. Matt also spent 2 years as chair of Towry's consultative committee, consulting with the executive board on concerns and matters raised by employees.
Martin is a Senior Consultant within the Southampton office of Thomas Miller.
Martin has worked in Financial Services for over 30 years. Previous employment includes the retail investment arm of a merchant bank, the financial planning team within a Lloyds broking listed company and a “big four” accountancy practice where he ran the financial planning team in the South.
He is a Chartered Financial Planner and previous roles include pension transfer specialist. He specialises in providing wealthy individuals, families and entrepreneurs with tailored financial solutions using a holistic approach to satisfy circumstances and aspirations. This focusses particularly on investment advisory, discretionary services and financial planning.
Advice is often provided in conjunction with other professional advisers.
Martin serves on the firm’s tax solutions group and supports the firm’s advisers in providing tax based investment solutions.
Alison has been a Senior Consultant within the London office of Thomas Miller Investment since its takeover of BROADSTONE in December 2014, having previously worked for its predecessors BDO Investment Management and Duncan Clark plc.
Having worked within the financial services industry since 1990, Alison became fully authorised to provide investment advice to clients in December 2001 and now provides comprehensive wealth management solutions to private clients, focussing particularly on investment advisory, discretionary services and financial planning with private clients.
Alison holds the Diploma in Financial Planning, one of the high level qualifications within the financial services industry and is working towards the prestigious chartered status.
Head of Advice
Tom joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014, moving from BROADSTONE. Having decided measuring the inside legs of Moss Bros customers was not for him, he now has 20 years' experience in financial services. Starting on the counter of a high street building society, he has spent the past 16 years in various independent financial advisory firms.
As Head of Advice, Tom supports our Partners and Consultants to ensure the quality of financial advice we provide to our clients is of the highest standard. A Chartered Financial Planner, Tom is well qualified to ensure we are kept abreast of the latest HMRC legislation, market developments and wider industry trends.
Tim is a Chartered Financial Planner and has 14 years of experience within the financial planning profession. Tim originally joined BDO Investment Management in 2008 which is the firm that later became BROADSTONE and was subsequently acquired by Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014.
Tim has a wealth of experience in providing strategic financial planning advice to a wide range of clients. He is a member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society.
Neil joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2014 with 20 years’ experience in financial services. He is now a consultant in Private Office, a division of Thomas Miller Investment providing independent planning and investment advice to wealthy families and trusts. Neil advises clients on a wide range of issues but particularly focusses on investment planning, pension strategy, succession options and the use of trusts. His role often involves liaison with other professionals including family solicitors, portfolio managers and tax advisers to identify needs and regularly review.
Neil is a Chartered member of the Securities & Investment Institute. Neil is also a Chartered Financial Planner and professionally qualified as a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (formerly the Society of Financial Advisers). Neil is a graduate with a Bachelor of Law degree from Kings College London.
Before Thomas Miller Investment, Neil has worked with BROADSTONE (previously BDO Investment Management), Ashcourt Asset Management and Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC).
Daniel joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014, having moved from BROADSTONE. He is a Consultant with over ten years’ experience in the financial services industry. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and holds the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

When not spending time with his son, he is a keen athlete and is in charge of the Thomas Miller running club
Working across all areas of financial planning, Dan works with his clients to manage their wealth and plan for their future. Dan’s areas of expertise include tax-efficient investing, retirement planning (both pre and post retirement), inheritance tax and estate planning. Dan joined Thomas Miller Investment following the acquisition of BROADSTONE in December 2014
Dan has been in the legal and financial services professions since graduating from Bournemouth University (LLB (Hons) Business Law) in 2005, achieving his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. Dan is committed to ensuring that his industry knowledge remains relevant and current by placing strong emphasis on his personal development and is working towards achieving Chartered Financial Planner status in the near future.
Dan lives in Kent with his wife and young son. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing golf and watching Reading FC up and down the country.
