Chief Investment Officer
Abi joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2006 after several years as a financial economist. He has written extensively and led seminars on a broad range of economic and investment related topics.
Abi’s role at Thomas Miller Investment ranges from leading our economic analysis and asset allocation research, to devising investment strategy and managing multi-asset portfolios for our largest clients. Abi leads the investment strategy committee and is responsible for the investment process across all asset classes and all client portfolios. He is a Director of Thomas Miller Investment Ltd and a member of TMI’s senior management committee.
In September 2013, Abi received an award for excellence in institutional asset management and was listed by Financial News as one of ‘40 Under 40 Rising Stars of European Asset Management’.
Abi studied economics at the University of York and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the London Business School. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
Director & Head of Portfolio Management
Henry joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2007 as a senior Investment Director, having gained 20 years experience at F & C Asset Management where he was Director of Fixed Interest and Head of Global Government Bonds.
As the Head of Portfolio Management, Henry ensures that TMI investment strategy and stock selection decisions are implemented across portfolios. He is responsible for the stock selection process for each asset class including equities, fixed income, alternatives and collective funds. He also helps formulate investment strategy as a member of the investment strategy committee. Henry also acts as portfolio manager for certain institutional client relationships.
In addition to managing global bond and currency portfolios for F & C ‘s institutional and retail clients, Henry was also a member of the Asset Allocation Committee that determined the company’s investment policy across all asset categories. Henry holds an MA in Classics from Worcester College, Oxford.
Head of Private Investment Management (UK)
Andrew joined Thomas Miller Investment in May 2012. He joined from Adam & Company Investment Management Ltd where he was the Investment Director charged with implementing and overseeing its investment process and strategy across all asset classes. He also managed the successful Adam Worldwide global equity fund and portfolios for a number of charity, corporate and private clients. Andrew has 17 years experience in investment markets and before joining Adam & Company, was an institutional global equity fund manager with Scottish Widows and Edinburgh Partners.
Andrew is an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK (ASIP) and obtained a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Prior to embarking on his investment management career, Andrew served six years as a British Army officer with the King's Own Scottish Borderers and is still actively involved in various Armed Service related charities.
Richard has accumulated over 30 years investment experience.
He joined Thomas Miller Investment in 1992 and holds responsibility for fixed income and currency management and acts for a number of clients as their portfolio manager. Richard also has experience in managing hedge fund investments.
Prior to joining Thomas Miller, Richard worked for Scandinavian Bank Ltd and S.G.Warburg Group. At S.G. Warburg Richard worked within the fixed income, equity and convertible bond divisions.
He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds the Diploma of the Association of International Bond Dealers.
Head of Collectives Research and Senior Portfolio Manager
Jordan joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2014 following the acquisition of BROADSTONE. He has responsibility for the fixed income strategies within the Thomas Miller Investment Managed Portfolio Service and also for providing asset allocation guidance for the broader multi-asset strategies.
In addition he is Head of the Collectives Research team, working towards the selection and monitoring of the collective fund approved lists. Jordan is also a member of the Fixed Income research team at Thomas Miller Investment, providing analysis and contributing to the investment strategy and outlook for the asset class.
Jordan began his career at Fidelity Investments before later moving to The Wellcome Trust, the world’s second largest endowment. Prior to Thomas Miller Investment, he worked at Mercer where he provided investment advice to institutional clients and charities. He studied Economics as an undergraduate at the University of Sheffield and as a postgraduate at City, University of London. Jordan has been a CFA Charterholder since 2011.
Head of Alternatives Research and Senior Portfolio Manager
Mark joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2008 having previously worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Alongside portfolio management responsibilities he also conducts research and analysis across a range of asset classes with a focus on alternative investments. He is a member of the TMI Investment Strategy Committee and Head of Alternatives Research. Mark studied economics at the University of Sheffield and is a CFA Charterholder.
Senior Portfolio Manager
Andrew began his career at a small independent private client management company, Lorne House Trust in 1994, where his responsibilities included covering European and Japanese equity markets.
In 2001 he joined Singer & Friedlander Investment Management (IOM) Limited as an Investment Manager and covered the UK retail sector and global quoted property.
In 2008 he joined Thomas Miller Investment and works within the Private Investment Management team.
He is a Graduate in Modern History from the University of Oxford and a Member of the Securities and Investment Institute since 1998.
Senior Portfolio Manager
A graduate in English Literature from Edinburgh University, James began his investment career in 1996 as Assistant to the Chief Investment Officer at Coutts in the Isle of Man, before obtaining professional qualifications with the Securities Institute (now CISI), the Society of Investment Professionals (ASIP) and the CFA charter.
James also obtained an MA with distinction in 1999, following a dissertation entitled ‘The Collapse of the Savings and Investment Bank in the Context of the Development of the Isle of Man as an Offshore Financial Centre.
He has about 18 years of investment experience, and also worked for Singer & Friedlander and Capital International Limited as an Investment Manager before joining TMI at the beginning of 2010.
Dan joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2014 as part of the acquisition of BROADSTONE. Dan has three years’ investment experience and is a key member of the Collectives Research team.
Dan obtained a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Finance from the University of Southampton and has completed both the IMC and CFA investment qualifications.
Georgios joined Thomas Miller Investment in December 2015 having previously worked as a Portfolio Analyst at Capital Generation Partners LLP. He has two years of investment experience and is a key member of the Alternative Investment Research team. His role includes Investment Research and Analysis with a particular focus on the Alternatives sector, Macroeconomic Research and also contributing to TMI’s Portfolio Management process.
He has obtained a MSc Finance and Investment from the University of Durham and a BSc Economics (Distinction) from the University of Athens.
Assistant Portfolio Manager
Karen joined Thomas Miller Investment in 2014 as part of the Private Investment Management team. Karen started her career in the industry in 2008 as a Securities Dealer with TMI and has also worked at Nedbank Private Wealth as an Investment Administrator.
Karen is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and holds the ACI Dealing Certificate.
Karen has a BSc (Hons) in Sport Administration and Science from Nottingham Trent University.
Sam joined Thomas Miller Investment at the beginning of 2016. He is responsible for the developed market equity strategies within the Managed Portfolio Service.
Further to this, he is a member of both the Collectives and Equity teams.
Prior to joining Thomas Miller Investment, Sam graduated from the University of Nottingham where he studied Finance, Accounting and Management. He is currently studying towards the CFA
