Paul joined the Thomas Miller Group in 1981 after 5 years in shipping with Mitsui OSK Lines in London. He was seconded to the TT Club where he worked in a variety of claims management and underwriting roles before becoming the Club's first Chief Executive in 1999, a position he held for 10 years. A former equity partner in the business since 1994, Paul was appointed to the Thomas Miller Holdings Board upon incorporation in 1999. After 28 years of service to the TT Club, Paul changed roles to become head of the expanding Thomas Miller Investment business, succeeding Brian Sheppard upon his retirement from that role. He holds an MA (Hons) in Jurisprudence from Trinity College, Oxford, and is professionally qualified as a Chartered Shipbroker.

Mike Balfour joined Thomas Miller Investment in July 2009 as Chief Investment Officer. Mike qualified as a chartered accountant in London with Neville Russell and then spent 16 years with Edinburgh Fund Managers, including 6 years as Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director. After a career break, which included several non-executive roles, he joined Glasgow Investment Managers as Chief Executive Officer in 2004 and remained there up to the end of 2007 when the business was sold to Aberdeen Asset Managers. Since then Mike has been pursuing outside interests including some non-executive and charitable roles.

Christopher ran the banking division of the Edinburgh-based merchant bank Noble Grossart Limited from 1983. The services provided by Noble Grossart included the management of individual sterling and dollar cash portfolios for corporates, captives, trusts and insurance captives, based both in the UK and Isle of Man. He joined Thomas Miller in 2006 to establish cash management services for the group. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
